Sexual Harassment
Disclaimer: In the court of law, a defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty. Most of the men mentioned below have not been found guilty. The court of public opinion, however, is driven by emotion, is often quick to judgement, and not always correct. That said, I’m like 90% sure these men are guilty of what they have been accused.

Voluntary Sterilization
I just finished reading an article titled, “Why Can’t I Get Sterilised In My 20s?” Wait. Shouldn’t it be “steriliZed”? Anyway. It reminded me of the frustration I faced when I tried to get a vasectomy. While most of this rant will be about my story, I did want to address a few things I found in Ms. Brockwell’s article.

Reminiscing About My Grandparents
Recently, I found out that one of my grandfathers had had a stroke and was in a coma. I thought it would be nice to post some fond memories of my grandparents before it’s too late. Plus it’s a nice change from my constant complaining. This will be phrased in the past tense, not because they are dead, but because these are memories.

The Criminality of Homeschooling
I was the victim of homeschooling from 6th grade on. Which means I just got a taste of what it’s like to have friends and then was ripped away. Some people know this, but I haven’t really gotten into it on this site. I think I made one comment about it being illegal in my Christopia, but I didn’t delve into my opinion on the topic. So let’s do that now, shall we?

How Sanctified is Marriage?
I have talked about the concept of marriage before. I was trying to think why the term “sanctity” was applied to marriage. It occurs to me that marriage was never sanctified. Assuming that the Bible is an accurate history, and that Adam and Eve were the first people, they got married because there was no one else. In any case, there was no celebration, no priest, no vows. They just decided to be together. I’ll skip the part about them only having sons so where did the rest of humanity come from… just like Christians skip that part.

The Oddity of Culture
I find the concept of culture interesting. Humans find group acceptance through culture. Part of their identity comes from the culture. Naturally, culture evolves over time. The more open minded you are when it comes to interracial relationships, the more cultures will blend. When you think about it, lots of things are part of our culture that we don’t realize. Let’s say that your family has pasta every Thursday. That’s part of your culture. One definition of “culture” is “a set of shared attitudes, values, goals, and practices that characterizes an institution, organization, or group“.

Birth Control Legislation
Effective August 2012, all health plans must cover birth control and preventative screenings for women. The conservatives are against this because, well, because liberals support the idea. Now I may have voiced my opinions on reproduction in the past. I know. I never speak my mind. Anyway, my argument has been that people are having children, but not raising them properly. They grow up in dysfunctional family systems (addiction, abuse, neglect, etc), but society has brainwashed everyone to think that having children is the end-all/be-all of human life. So rather than treat the psychological and physical effects of this trauma, they just have their own children and pass the trauma…

The Marriage Fallacy
With the recent gay rights advancement in New York, I thought it time I voice my views on gay marriage. There seem to be two arguments against it. First, is the idea of marriage sanctity. Second the idea that homosexuality is a sin. Let’s break this down, shall we?

2010 Review
I meant to post this last month, but forgot. So here we go. 2010 started on a low note. I was unemployed, had no money, and was stressed out beyond belief. It ended on a high note.

I Need to Come to Power
I need to come to power. I have so many great ideas that I need to implement in order to bring the world into my utopia. My Christopia, if you will.
