Psychological Warfare
I’m so tired of this idiotic complaint by gun activists. “They are going to take away our guns.” Look. No one is going to take your guns. You know why? They don’t NEED TO.
The Second Amendment was written when the only way a ruler could control the people was with the military. Leaders were worried that an armed populace could revolt, so the leaders would not let the populace have weapons. Our founders made sure that it wouldn’t happen here.
Times have changed. Now all a leader needs in order to control the people is control the news. When Bush II wanted to invade Iraq, he used Fox News to let the people know that Iraq was involved in 9/11 and had weapons of mass destruction. At the time, 70% of Americans supported the war. No one had to take away someone’s guns in order to get support for the war. Even after we learned that the two premises of our reason to go to war were false, 30% still think the Iraq war was a good idea.
This is psychological warfare. Our leaders don’t need to take away our guns. They already control us. Politicians a few decades ago noticed that Americans were getting dumber and dumber. The dumber we got, the more docile and open to suggestion. That’s what the news does; exploit us. Particularly Fox News. Rather than convey relevant stories, they deliver the stories in such a way to put a little spin on it. Not outright lying, just a little flavor. Over time, the people see the news with that slant on their own.
The average American (so called “real” Americans) don’t know who the vice president is. Well, to be fair, only 29% can’t name THE CURRENT VICE PRESIDENT. This isn’t a lack of knowledge about history, this is a lack of knowledge of reality. So is it any surprise that so many Americans (15%) don’t think the President was born in the US?
We’ve been aware that the government “leaks” certain news stories for decades. You think that those stories are just selected at random? Fuck no. They tell us what they want us to know, and the news tells us how to feel about it. All those “a source at the pentagon” stories? Do you really think a government official with high enough rank to have that classified document would risk his career? If caught he could be found guilty of treason. No. He got approval. He may have even been ordered to “leak” that document.
But yeah, the government wants to take away your guns. And do what exactly? The military has their own guns, and even if the populace rose up against the US Government, the military has enough weapons to defend itself. Oh. Then comes the “slippery slope” argument. First they’ll take the guns and then they’ll put us in concentration camps. WHY? Why would they do that? What’s in it for them? Have you seen your paycheck? Have you seen the small apartment in which you stuff your family? Wake up. You ARE in a concentration camp. One that you allowed to happen even with your guns.
Here’s my point. The government probably could take away your guns but it would be a lot of work with no real payoff. Why put in all that time and energy when all they need to do is get you to watch TV? Or maybe the gun argument is just conspiracy theory nonsense. Maybe, just maybe, the government’s actual master plan is to stop innocent people from being shot. Maybe not letting you have an assault rifle is the government’s way to save lives, and not a personal fuck you, you ignorant fuckwit. Rather than worry about your puny gun collection, how about you worry about being manipulated. That’s the real source of power. Are you outraged at Obama because you have a problem with his views? Or because someone who has a problem with his views owns a TV station?
That’s the real war. That’s the real battlefield. Your mind.
