Intro to Computers: Windows
I’ve decided to take a break from my socio-political rants to talk about a lighter topic, computers. This will be a three part series talking about the top three Operating Systems: Windows, OSX, and Linux.

Communication
I don’t know why, but something has happened to our society where the ability to effectively communicate has been lost. More than that, it has been shunned. People now take pride in their illiteracy. I often hear things like “well that’s just the way I speak” or “you know what I mean”. The worst is “I type the way I speak”. The last one implies that not only can they no longer proofread, but they are also idiots in real life, too.

How I Would Fix the Economy
The economy has been in the news almost constantly for the last few years, but no one seems to know what to do about it. It’s like asking a man what a woman wants. We have no clue. Magic seems to be the leading theory, though some believe that science will one day shed some light on the subject.

Birth Control Legislation
Effective August 2012, all health plans must cover birth control and preventative screenings for women. The conservatives are against this because, well, because liberals support the idea. Now I may have voiced my opinions on reproduction in the past. I know. I never speak my mind. Anyway, my argument has been that people are having children, but not raising them properly. They grow up in dysfunctional family systems (addiction, abuse, neglect, etc), but society has brainwashed everyone to think that having children is the end-all/be-all of human life. So rather than treat the psychological and physical effects of this trauma, they just have their own children and pass the trauma…

Stonehenge – Layout
For the most part, I was just playing with gradients. The image of Stonehenge would always be at the bottom of the site, giving each page a “done” quality.

Nude – Layout
Yeah, yeah. I like boobs. You get it. I was playing with transparency. This is actually a solid layout and worked for a long time. I hated how low the menu was though. That part really annoyed me.

Wave – Layout
What can I say? I miss the ocean. I was also playing with hover images for the menu. All in all a pretty nice layout. Plus I love how my logo looks.

Matrix Rose – Wallpaper
Looking back, this is pretty lame. Just a transparent rose. If I had the talent, and time, I should have made the Digital Rain code face a different direction on each pedal. Oh well.

Opposing Natures – Dual Wallpaper
I got the idea from studying Bipolar Disorder. Luckily I found a model who had done two stock images that fit. I like the concept of people being able to be calm and reserved while also being strong and exciting. Duality.

Which of Us Do You Love – Dual Wallpaper
I was trying to learn how to photomanipulate mirrors. It’s a pain in the ass, by the way. I happened to be listing to Breath No More by Evanescence, and the song mentions looking into a mirror and feeling like it’s someone else. Thus for this picture, I purposefully have the model in two different poses. Plus I centered the “mirror” girl’s eye with the center of the crack. Mainly because it looks cool, but you can come up with some sort of bullshit artsy explanation if you want.
