Why I Openly and Adamantly Attack Religion
I have kind of talked about this before. Religious persecution. What a silly concept. I recently watched a YouTube video. It talked about how atheists attacking religion is “offensive”.

Selective Bible Belief
One of the worst parts about discussing theism with theists is the picking and choosing. Any time I point out a scripture that proves their ideas wrong, they argue that its the Old Testament so it doesn’t count, or that it is just a metaphor, and not literal.

Noah’s Ark (and the “literal interpretation” of the bible)
Ah, Noah’s Ark. Most people remember this story from childhood. God decided that human kind was so evil, that they needed to be wiped out. He would save Noah and his family, as well as the animals, to repopulate the earth. We all have the mental image of a box shaped ship with giraffe heads poking out the top. There are two schools of thought about this story. One, and most logical, is that it’s nothing more than a story. Like Mother Goose, it’s here to teach us some moral concept. The other, and flat out idiotic school of thought, is that it, and everything else in the bible is…

The Positives of Religion
For the sake of challenging myself, both as a writer and as a complainer, I thought it would be interesting to discuss the positive traits of religion. I’ll try to talk about the good religion has done, instead of ridicule it like I normally do. Now, keep in mind, religion is still asinine, but today, I’ll try to limit my objections and focus on the positives.

The Criminality of Homeschooling
I was the victim of homeschooling from 6th grade on. Which means I just got a taste of what it’s like to have friends and then was ripped away. Some people know this, but I haven’t really gotten into it on this site. I think I made one comment about it being illegal in my Christopia, but I didn’t delve into my opinion on the topic. So let’s do that now, shall we?

Morality
“Without God, what’s to stop you from killing people?” It’s an interesting concept that almost every theist asks an atheist. The logic is that god gave the Ten Commandments to give us morality. Without that morality, we would have anarchy. Now any rational person knows this is utter nonsense. What happened before the Ten Commandments? Why are certain crimes absent from the Decalogue? Most importantly, honestly, what would the world be like without the Ten Commandments?

The Fuck is “Scienceism”?
I have a new complaint. Shocking, I know. Have you noticed how people add “ism” to things they don’t understand? I often see creationists use the not-at-all-made-up words “scienceism” and “evolutionism”. The idea is that they’re trying to bring science and evolution down to their level. Here’s the problem. Just because YOU don’t understand something, doesn’t mean no one else does.

Free Speech
Free speech is a very tricky thing when you think about it. Like, I can call someone an asshole. But if I call them a rapist, then it’s libel. It’s like if you make it up, it’s fine. If it’s fact, it’s fine. But if there’s the possibility that it’s true without any proof, then it’s not acceptable. Does that make any sense to anyone? I am a huge supporter of free speech. I mean, I want to make a living exploiting it, after all.

Religious Duties
Hey religious people: You know how you’re paranoid and worried that people like me are going to come into your homes, take your children and undo your brainwashing by taking them to our science camps, turn your churches into brothels, and forbid you from worshiping your sky faerie? Well if you don’t want that to happen, you kind of have to earn it by proving that you’re not dangerous. The first step is to control your crazies and stupids.

Our Founding Principles
I’m often puzzled by the opinion on the right, that we need to steer our country back to our founding principles. One of my biggest complaints about our country is that it is too similar to the 1780s version of the US. I want change. I want a progressive future. I want the US to be BETTER, not the SAME. I mean, what has changed?
